Art and Written Responses
(top) Pastel by Quincy, Grade 2. Here's what Quincy wrote in his Writer's Notebook after finishing this piece:
I think my drawing is very beautiful. I like how I did the sun and clouds and the birds, and I like how I mixed the colors together. I would like the real sun to look like mine. I like how I did not rush. I wish I could get a close up look.
(middle) Self Portrait by Asanne, Grade 4. Asanne wrote this haiku to go with her portrait:
I have long black hair.
I love where I go to school.
I love to make friends.
(bottom) Pastel by Jesujuwon, Grade 2. Jesujuwon wrote this haiku to go with his picture:
The beautiful sun
Setting in the pretty sky.
People get calmer.
