Executive Director

Mr. Shubert Jacobs’ thirty-six years in education spans tertiary, high, and elementary institutions including Shortwood Teachers College, Ardenne High School, St Georges College and Covenant Christian Academy where he served as Principal of the Elementary School from 1996 to 2000.

He is the founding principal of Bronx Better Learning and current Executive Director of the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning Education Corporation. Friendly, outgoing and able to relate to people of all backgrounds and socioeconomic levels, he excels in team building, school culture, and student achievement initiatives. His greatest joy comes from his work with the staff, parents, and students.

In 2021, Mr. Jacobs was a recipient of The Mico University College’s 185th Commemorative Award for educational impact.

He entered the teaching profession via The Mico Teachers’ College where he earned a Certificate in English & Integrated Science. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & English Literature with Social Sciences from University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica, and a Master of Science in School Supervision and Administration from Mercy College, New York.
